Scheherazade 2012

CYDC have one week to go before they take their piece to St David’s Hall in Cardiff to perform alongside other youth groups and major national arts organisations.  The Orchestra of Welsh National Opera will perform Rimsky Korsakov’s much loved orchestral suite, with 200 performers and different art forms coming together.

Please come and support us on 9th October (see link below) if you can.  If not you can see the piece on 30th November in ‘Swansea Dances’ at the Taliesin Arts Centre which showcases the work of students from Gower College Swansea and CYDC

Autumn Project 2012

Last week CYDC started rehearsing for their performance at St David’s Hall, Cardiff on 9th October.  We are collaborating with The National Dance Company of Wales and the National Opera of Wales presenting an interpretation of the music from the ballet ‘Scheherazade’.  We are just one of a number of youth groups and schools who will be taking part in this exciting project.

The piece was created last April by the Graduate Company under the direction of Julie Hobday, Lucy Heale and Luke Ganz.
