Scheherazade 2012
CYDC have one week to go before they take their piece to St David’s Hall in Cardiff to perform alongside other youth groups and major national arts organisations. The Orchestra of Welsh National Opera will perform Rimsky Korsakov’s much loved orchestral suite, with 200 performers and different art forms coming together.

Decade – wgytc & CYDC Summer 2012
We had a fantastic time working with members of wgytc and their staff on ‘Decade’ this Summer. Below is a review of the performance, which some of you may have already seen on our Facebook page. Thanks to all our friends at wgytc and we look forward to collaborating again soon.
Autumn Project 2012
Last week CYDC started rehearsing for their performance at St David’s Hall, Cardiff on 9th October. We are collaborating with The National Dance Company of Wales and the National Opera of Wales presenting an interpretation of the music from the ballet ‘Scheherazade’. We are just one of a number of youth groups and schools who will be taking part in this exciting project.
The piece was created last April by the Graduate Company under the direction of Julie Hobday, Lucy Heale and Luke Ganz.
New contemporary works
Welcome to the tenth perfomance by CYDC at the Taliesin Arts Centre

The company have been working since February with local choreographers Doug Comley and Julie Hobday. The work you will see in this evening’s perfomance has been created during weekly sessions and an intense rehearsal period of two days at Gower College Swansea (Gorseinon Campus).
In addition there is a piece by the Graduate Company. The Graduate Company is an offshoot of CYDC which was established in 2007, it involves students who have begun higher education training or are currently in work. Its aim is to nurture their talents as well as inspire the younger members of the company.
